Artisan hands at work — a quiet portrait of craft and care

Our story is yet to be written.

At Gharana, we believe that every individual deserves the opportunity to live with dignity, hope, and purpose. We recognize that many people wish to make a difference within their own communities but often do not know where to begin. Our mission is to bridge that gap by creating meaningful pathways for local action, connecting those who want to help with those who need support.

Through food rescue initiatives, donation drives, and community service projects, we work to reduce waste, support those in need, and strengthen the wellbeing of local communities. We believe that meaningful change begins at home, and that even the smallest acts of kindness can create a lasting impact.

The lotus in our identity reflects the values we hold close—purity, resilience, renewal, and rebirth. Just as the lotus rises and blooms despite the conditions around it, we believe every person has the potential to thrive when given the right support and opportunities.

At our core, Gharana is built on a simple belief: if we have the ability to improve someone else's life, why shouldn't we? Communities flourish when people come together with compassion, responsibility, and purpose. After all, if human beings do not help one another, who will?

Our Belief

Every child is the
keeper of a story
yet to be told.

From the blue lanes of Jodhpur outward, we hope to partner with elders and artisans to build learning spaces that feel like home, and homes that feel like sanctuaries of learning.

  • Community-led learning rooted in mother tongue
  • Craft and the arts as paths to confidence
  • Care and dignity for the families who built our city

The Programmes

Three threads, one weave.

Each programme is shaped slowly, in conversation with the people it serves; never imposed, always invited.

01Books & Life Skills

Vidya

Reading circles, storybooks and everyday life skills — from handling money to staying safe — for children who deserve both knowledge and confidence.

02Music, Dance & Painting

Kalaa

Afternoons of music, dance and painting — where children pick up a brush, a beat or a step, and discover the artist already living inside them.

03 WELLBEING

Aangan

Gentle circles for people offering health and counseling, a space to be heard, supported and seen.

Annapurna · The Food Drive

Extra food at home?
We’ll carry it forward.

If you have surplus food from a wedding, an event, or simply a generous kitchen, call us. A Gharana volunteer will collect it and deliver it, warm and with dignity, to families in Jodhpur who need a meal that day. No plate of food should go to waste while a neighbor goes hungry.
